I have been experiencing data lags and dropped and missing data on CME Emini products all morning. When I first noticed it, I contacted Tech Support through your internet chat feature. The person I spoke with was unaware there was a problem. When they contact whoever they contacted in your organization, they were unaware there was a problem. How is that you have data issues and your customers have to make you aware of it...I dont understand that. Dont you have an Alarm or something that wakes up the people in the department that monitors this to tell them that something is the matter. Why do your customers have to alert you to a data feed issue.

I have been comparing your feed all morning to my trading platform that is fed by CQG data. No issues with there feed. Its too bad too, cause the market had great range today, but I couldnt trust the charts I was looking at in order to make trading decisions.

I understand that issues come up...I dont understand why when I contact DTN, I hear..."oh, there is a problem???". I would be nice to hear..."Yes, we are aware there is an issue and we are working on it. We have identified the problem and it should be fixed within "x" minutes/hours". Is that asking too much???

DTN was made aware of CME data lagging the markets this morning. Our engineers immediately contacted the CME exchange in order to determine the cause of the problem. It was determined that the cause originated at the CME’s primary data center, so DTN moved our ticker systems to receive its data from the CME’s secondary data center. The quote and trade data being provided is now up to date and accurate, however, we are still working to correct today’s cumulative volume for electronic contracts.
As for CQG each vendor may receive different feeds (depending upon if they offer trading services, market depth, etc) from different data centers (geographically diverse locations) at the exchange. The problem DTN experienced was caused by one feed at one of the CME’s data centers. Luckily, DTN has redundant connections to multiple CME data centers and was able to switch to rectify the situation.
We do our best to report problems and relay the ETA to these issues to our customers while they are ocurring. In this instance the communication to you we did not have the exact problem and resolution at the time your chat started. I reviewed your chat session and during this session we explained the we escalated your report of the problems. There was also a message posted on our MOTD site twice during the chat session. http://www.dtniq.com/product/motd/motd2.cfm
Thank you
Mike
