As I am sure you are aware, there have been numerous times over the last several days, that DTN's data, specifically for the emini ES, ER2 and NQ, has been running behind...in some cases as much as 10 to 20 seconds. My trading platform through CQG has a flag that signals when there are data integrity issues.

It would be a welcome addition if DTN could provide the same type of notification. Additionally, it would also be nice if you guys had some sort of internal alarm to notify you when this occurs, rather than relying on your customers to call and let you know. It doesnt give me a warm fuzzy feeling when the people that we call in customer service are unaware of the problem and initially blame it on the CME, only to find out that you indeed are having problems. When customer service people have to dig around in there own company for information that should be readily available to them, it almost makes it seem like something is being hidden. Is it?????

To be sure, in this era of high tech...problems arise. All I am seeking here is a company that is forthright in acknowledging that and is aggressively resolving it, and embraces their customers in the solution rather than leaving the perception that something is being kept in the dark.

I see no response from DTN regarding this suggestion. Is that because it is a bad suggestion, or does DTN feel there is no need to provide this type of support to their data feed?

Actually I think I addressed this in another post, but since I cannot find it......

Its not a bad suggestion, nor do I feel it is un-needed. In fact, our ProphetX system already has such alerting functionality. IQFeed doesn't currently have one and we don't have immediate plans to implement it. We are focusing 100% of our development resources to ensuring we don't have problems, as opposed to providing messaging to alert you if we do have problems. In the end, the hardware and software that is being installed should help significantly as market volumes increase. As always, we want to continue to see our customer base grow. We realize the only way to do this is to continue to have one of the fastest and most reliable feeds available. The more customers we have, the more we will be able to continue to invest in our software and infrastructure.
