I installed the IQFeed client on my Mac development box.
The login dialog pops up, but the "Connect" button is grayed out. The dialog message reads "Awaiting product ID and version" Entering login information and password does not help.
Running macOS Sierra Version 10.12 2.3Ghz Intel i7, 16G
I am able to connect on a windows box, no problem
How can I get IQFeed to work on a Mac?

Hello Gremlin123, to log into IQFeed on a Mac OSX. You will need to do so through your Charting Software. IQFeed does not have a interface so it will not connect by itself hence the grey "Connect" button.

I have the same issue, how do you actually connect to the feed? (I'm an API customer) the terminal command: "open -a IQFeed" doesn't work.
On windows the ShellExecute(); function works from code, but how do I do this on mac/linux from code? Edited by NLaSalle on Jun 23, 2019 at 07:54 PM

You would need run the MAC Client in Wine to make a connection on Linux.

when I launch the MAC client the connect button is grey and not enabled and the field says "awaiting product ID and version" I can pass my product ID through my C++ app on Windows, but how do I do that with the Wine versions?

On my machine: user@here:~$ wine .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/DTN/IQFeed/iqconnect.exe -product x1 -version x2 -login x3 -password x4 -autoconnect
Substitute your own info for x1, x2, x3, x4
