Hello,

I am trying to get a list of stocks and ETFs for each exchange. I attempted to use the SBF request but companies and ETFs are both returned under security type 1 - Equities. Is there a way I can accomplish this under the current protocol? If not, would it be possible for you to bifurcate the Equities security type into Funds and Corporates?

Unfortunately there is no way to get a list of ETFs from the feed since (as you discovered) we do not distinguish them in any consistent way. You can get a list of some ETFs by using symbol lookup to search the description field for ETF but that won't get you all of them since not all of them have ETF in the description.

I don't think that moving these to a different security type is a possibility (I think it would negatively affect too many products) but I'll make sure your general request (being able to identify these symbols consistently) gets to the right people internally for consideration.

Steve- Any progress on this? Still remains no way to differentiate between Common Stock, Preferred Stock, Warrants, ETFs, Notes, etc. under the "Equities" category.

Hello,

I have not heard of any changes yet towards this request, but we have re-escalated it and will let you know what we hear back.

Did you ever resolve the issue with pulling all available ETFs? I have the same issue. I found a large list of ETFs here:
http://investexcel.net/all-yahoo-finance-stock-tickers/
But, many of these are not available on IQfeed and I'm sure I'm missing others. Just curious about your thoughts or if someone else knows of a good work around.
Thanks.
