--- Original message by David on May 17, 2004 03:41 PM We are working on another bug found which is causing some data corruption in history lookups. Our current "goal" is to have something ready by the end of the week assuming we are able to get it pushed through our QA group. Jay Froscheiser DTN Market Access, LLC.

Not to be overly negative, but any qa group that lets the product out when the timestamps are an hour off does not have much of a prayer of doing anything helpful.
Further, this bug happened in a previous release, which indicates that your qa people don't bother plugging leaks in the qa process.
and now, back to our regular positive viewpoint....

-steve --- Original message by skearns23 on May 19, 2004 08:26 PM Steve, Your comments are well taken. Letme explain what our QA group is capable of in a product such as this. IQFeed is being used by hundreds of developers. Each of them uses different languages, hardware and processes. The issue with the timestamps was not seen internallly during QA. Even after it was reported by 2 developers, we still could not duplicate it internally. After numerous attempts, it was finally seen on a development machine here, and we were able to track down the problem. Our QA group tests many scenarios, but all scenarios of usage would be impossible to test. I do recall this issue cropping up in a previous release as well. Unfortunately, at that time IQFeed was being developed by someone who is no longer with us. The IQFeed 2.3 release is also the first release we have taken the time to put through our full QA process. Previous versions were not fully tested by QA, mostly because of high demands from our users to get things out "quickly". In the end, that burned us (and our customers) because we put out software that was under our standards. Although our QA process did find some bugs before release, it is doubtfull it will find all of them. This is why we have reorganized our development process a bit to better react to problems when they come up. Again, thanks for the comments Steve. I think you would agree that IQFeed is only improved over the past couple years. With some of the changes we are making now and in the near future, it will only continue to improve. Best regards, Tomasz --- Original message by amibroker on May 28, 2004 05:16 AM Hoping to get a final release from our QA group today. I really don't like releasing software on a Friday before a long holiday, but we will get it posted if we get the build back today. Jay Froscheiser DTN Market Access, LLC.

Scratch that. One of the reasons we extended this release a few more days is because we wanted to get all of the internal app version numbers in sync (without them in sync we were having installation issues). With getting the versions up to speed, we had to make a slight change to the quote servers as well. Both the Quote Server and IQFeed 2.3 are going to be approved by QA today. However, the client cannot be used until the new server is installed, which won't take place until this weekend. With the long weekend in the US, we are going to hold off on releasing the client until Tuesday to ensure the server software installation goes well.
At this time I don't see any reason why we won't have the IQFeed 2.3 posted Tuesday morning.
Sorry for the delay.
