Hi,

IQFeed client 2.2.7.2 lost its connection this morning around 7:57am PST. Does anyone
else have the same problem? I have a connection watchdog to monitor the connectivity
of my internet connection, it didn't report problems.

Thanks,

I checked our customer support call list, and I don't see anybody reporting the same connection issue. I'll monitor the situation for a while and let you know if I see anybody else reporting the issue.

I had a similar problem at 10:54:33 (last trade recorded).
I received a "SERVER DISCONNECTED" message 1min 16sec later at 10:55:49!
I then received a second "SERVER DISCONNECTED" message at 10:56:06 shortly
followed by a "SERVER CONNECTED" message at 10:56:09.
Of course, I was watching 1300 symbols at the time and the watchlist was wiped by
the disconnect. My software is still under development so it didn't automatically resubscribe
to watch these symbols.
Our Internet connection was up at all times (monitored)

I'm fairly new to IQFeed and this kind of interruption can be devestating to my trading system. I have not seen any documentation that refers to the "SERVER DISCONNECTED" message. Can you point me to where this might exist.
Should I expect this kind of interruption (not Internet related) to occur regularly?

Dennis

After writing the above post, I came across an earlier thread that describes the problem I experienced. It can be found here http://forums.iqfeed.net/index.cfm?page=topic&topicID=198

I, like many other developers am keenly awaiting the planned updates that will add seconds to the timestamps on trades, etc. Timing is critical to all trading and knowing the time information was created compared to when you received it is vital. I am therefore shocked that it takes a minimum, HARD CODED 75 seconds to be informed of a lost connection.
Surely it would be simple to set up a 5 second poll between client and server to determine connection status. This would consume less than 2 megabytes per day.
