In the sample excel sheet that explains how to format cells to accept real time data, there is reference to the IQLink Macro that is contained in that spread sheet. It works fine, but it is a protected macro that cannot be transported into a global macro setting to be available when I would want to design a whole new spread sheet. Is this intentional, or is there an unprotected version of this somewhere?
It would really be great for DTN to design a simple Excel AddIn that would be downloadable by customers to facilitate this chore. ESignal has such an AddIn with a small Toolbar that makes the datafeed interface into Excel dirt simple. That would be best, but assuming it isn't available, is there an unprotected version of the IQLink Macro available that could be emailed to me?
Thanks,

Please take a look at ftp://www.dtniq.com/iq/Sample_DDE_Spreadsheet.xls, this should have the unprotected macro in it. We have wanted to write an Addin for Excel, but with the DDE features in our new ProphetX software (drag and drop from the client into Excel), the Addin hasn't made it to the top of the priority list. It remains on our list, and as development time permits, it is something we will look at. Another easy way to get DDE links into Excel is from the DTN.IQ client software. You can create a watch list and setup the symbols and columns how you want, then export the watch list as DDE formulas. Hopefully one of these solutions will work out for you! If you can't get there from the link, open your browser to ftp://www.dtniq.com/iq/ , then click on the Sample_DDE_Spreadsheet.xls file to download it.
