"Boy, probably spent a thousand hours trying to get ******* API to work right. And now two hours to have something running with IQFeed. Hmmm, guess I was pretty stupid to fight rather than switch all this time. And have gotten more customer service from you guys already than total from them… in five years." - Comment from Jim
"IQFeed version 4 is a real screamer compared to anything else I have seen." - Comment from Tom
"I "bracket trade" all major news releases and I have not found one lag or glitch with DTN.IQ feed. I am very comfortable with their feed under all typical news conditions (Fed releases, employment numbers, etc)." - Comment from Public Forum
"It’s so nice to be working with real professionals!" - Comment from Len
"The people at Nirvana have very nice things to say about your company and I can see why! Price and service is a potent combination." - Comment from Ed
"I started a trial a few weeks back before the market went wild. DTN.IQ didn’t miss anything and beat my other provider. I decided to stay with you because of the great service through all the volatility." - Comment from Mike
"I was on the phone with a friend who uses CQG and right after the Fed announcement, CQG was as much as 30 seconds behind DTN.IQ. Some quotes were off by as much as 15-18 cents. Your feed never missed a beat." - Comment from Roger
"Just a quick one to say I'm very impressed so far :) The documentation for developers is excellent and I've quickly managed to get an app written to do historical downloads. The system is very robust and pretty quick considering the extent of data that's available. The support guys have been very helpful too, in combination with the forums it's been plain sailing so far!" - Comment from Adam
"There is no doubt that IQFeed is the best data provider. I am very satisfied with your services. And IQFeed is the only one that I would recommend to my friends. Now, most of them are using your product in China." - Comment from Zhezhe
"Very impressed with the quality of your feed - ******* is a real donkey in comparison." - Comment from A.C. via Email

Testing with 2.3.0.3 and using the watch command in a loop to ask for 40+ symbols to be watched. Upon initial request for 40 symbols, the Connection Manager Feed Stats form will show 6 symbols. If I repeat the request the number of symbols followed will go to 11, repeat full list again, number of symbols followed will go to 16, then to 21, etc.

This I can verify by seeing which Fundamental records are returned. My conclusion is that I am making requests to the watch list faster than the IQfeed Connect can process the requests, or is there a handshake I should be using so I do not overrun the request process. I interface directly with the DLL using Delphi 6. The TCP/IP socket is using this type of an example string:

tcp5009.sendln('wIBM'+#13+#10+#0+#1,#1)

I have a 1/50th of a second delay after the string is sent to the socket, as that seemed to be an effective delay pace for the 2.3.0.1 version. How should I be sending the watch list so all symbols are reliably processed and begin to update?

Thanks.

Sincerely, Howard Arrington

Hi Howard,

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I wasn't aware of this issue, but will look into it. It there a watchlist file that you can send to the developer support email, so I can test with ensign and IQFeed? Thanks!

I'd rather be...

I am curious why you send the extra 'stuff' at the end of the watch request. The DTN API shows: w[symbol]\n.

I just send the symbol followed by the #10 linefeed character (as per API and empirical testing). Has been working well for all client versions. Maybe I am missing something...

Thanks,

David

This issue has been resolved via a change in Ensign to watch all symbols using one request instead of making multiple requests with 1 symbol per request. Thanks for the feedback.

Glad to hear that it is resolved. But, you can also watch one symbol at a time. If anyone is having issues with that, let me know. I need to make sure that either way is reliable. Thanks!
