"With HUGE volume on AAPL and RIMM for 2 days, everyone in a trading room was whining about freezes, crashes and lag with *******, RealTick, TS and Cyber. InvestorRT with IQFeed was rock solid. I mean SOLID!" - Comment from Public IRC Chat
"I just wanted to say how happy I am with your service. I was able to download the API docs last week and I was able to replicate Interactive Brokers historical bar queries and realtime bar queries over the weekend. That was about one of the fastest integrations that I've ever done and it works perfectly!!!!" - Comment from Jason via Email

Hello,

I need to start the IQFeed client on a machine every morning that is
unattended. No one will be at the machine. I wanted to schedule
a task in XP to start it, but the IQLinkLauncher requires someone
to press the start button, so this won't work.

It seems the only purpose of IQLinkLauncher is to start
IQConnect and IQLink. Can I start these two programs
myself?

When I try to start IQConnect, it complains that it needs a
command line argument, but none of the arguments that
I tried worked. What command line argument will start
IQConnect and cause it to connect to the server?

I'm able to start IQLink, but it requires that IQConnect is
started first.

It sure would be nice to be able to start the IQFeed connection
automatically without user intervention.

I am not sure where or what you are looking for (since you posted to the DTN.IQ Client forum but talk about IQFeed and IQLinkLauncher which are IQFeed components), so I will give you some ideas which should help. Set the Automatically Connect box on the login screen as well as save the login and PIN for IQFeed.

1) If you are using DTN.IQ, you can then set a scheduled task to launch DTN.IQ whenever you need and it will auto login.
2) IQLinkLauncher requires user intervention to connect, so the only way to do an unattended login with that would be to use a macro program (there are several freeware apps out there) that will click buttons for you.
3) If you are an IQFeed developer your app just needs to call RegisterClientApp.

I think 1 would be your best option even if you are only using IQFeed. In this case, contact sales to convert your account to a DTN.IQ account, use method 1, then you will technically have IQFeed/IQconnect running. You will want to make sure you install DTN.IQ, then install IQFeed over top of it however.

Hope this helps.
