There is some doc that a stock symbol has max 5 characters, but there can be extensions, and additionally the options are much longer. I couldn't find anything on the overall maximum symbol length. Is it defined? If not, is there a practical upper limit that I can assume?

I ran a check and we have one index that is 22 characters long. I was surprised to find it as was long as it is, but somewhere around that mark should work for you.

FYI, specifically for historical requests the docu states symbols are "Max Length 30 characters"
