I have Windows 7 virtual machine installed under Parallels 9 on my Mac.
I'm running IQFeed Diagnostics utility and opening port 9100 for historical data requests. While I'm able to telnet from Windows terminal to the port and request/receive historical data- When I try to telnet from my Mac's terminal app I'm able to connect to Windows IP/port, but when I send data requests - nothing is printed back in the window, no syntax errors, no data... the connection is open though.
Windows 7 is running in a VM and appears as another host with it's own IP, not sure if there is any limitation/protection in IQFeed app that prevents communication if client is not connecting from local host?
I setup a Filezilla FTP server on the same Windows VM instance and was able to telnet to it from my Mac without any problems. Windows Firewall is turned off completely.
Anyone has any suggestions on what is the issue? I would really appreciate!

IQConnect is limited to running via localhost due to exchange compliance issues. You can run IQConnect directly though via WINE on a Mac though so you can access it normally.
The telnet for Windows uses the terminating /r/n for terminating characters. I am not positive what Mac may be using but, I think it is just the carriage return. If issues persist with WINE, it might be a worthwhile place to start checking if the Mac terminal has an option to adjust to a different terminator set.
