I am finding page loads take forever in Ninjatrader when I request anything more than a day or two of data. It can take more than 30 minutes, sometimes hours to load 30 or 60 days of tick data for one instrument (ES).

I have deleted workspaces from NT, and started new, but the problem persists. My feedstats, when loading a page show that I am getting less than 1KB/Sec transfer.

Requesting the default of 3 days results in almost instantaneous loads. My internet connect is at about 2Mbit/sec, and other internet tools are working well.

How can I get historical quotes loaded faster than 30 minutes?

Hello,
Iqfeed will only allow you to pull tick data during market hours up to 8 days and after hours is 180 days. It sounds like 3 days work of tick data are loading fine until you request more. Am I correct?

Thank you for your reply.

It doesn't matter when I do it. Most of the times I have tried has been around 4am ET, as I am based in the UK, and the chart I am loading is the ES.

Hello Adrianjm, it possibly sounds like the Historical Data Manager has gotten corrupted for the ES data which I have seen cause similar issues. One thing to try is within NinjaTrader go to Tools, then select Historical Data Manager.

Within that window, select the Edit tab, then locate ES and the month/year code that you have loaded. If you are using the continuous contract then it will be ES ##-##.

Once you have found that right click on the symbol and select Delete, then click on Yes to delete that listing. Once it is gone from the list, click on the Download tab, and re-select the ES contract that you want to download for, select the Start and End Dates that you want, then set the Interval that you want and set the Data Types to "Last".

Finally click on the button that says Download. Depending on how far you go back it should only take a couple of minutes to complete.

Once that is done, open a chart for the symbol and it should load pretty quickly for you.
