"I ran your IQFeed DDE vs. my broker vs. a level II window for some slow-moving options. I would see the level II quote change, then your feed update instantaneously. My broker's DDE, however, would take as much as 30 seconds to update. I am not chasing milliseconds, but half a minute is unacceptable." - Comment from Rob
"Everything is working amazing now. I'm already impressed with the true-tick feed of IQFeed and it's ability to support my 480 symbol layout." - Comment from Tyler via Email

I have been a user for couple years now and I hope that the question that has been lingering can be defined. Is there anywhere that explains how things are calculated in market stats. I use NYSE net volume daily but I am seeing some thing in accordance to NYSE tick that are interesting but without knowing how they are derived I can not make it of further use signal wise.

Basically I beleive it is a the difference in volume to between the upticking and downticking stocsk. While I think this I hope that i can get a further explanation of how it is calculated

thank you

First, thanks for your continued business!

second, you might take a look at the "Notifies" section of our symbol guide page (towards the bottom of the page). There is an "Indexes and Indicators Definitions" page that has a decent overview of many of the common stats we calculate.

from that document:
The NYSE tick is the number of stocks whose current price is higher than the previous trade (uptick) minus the number whose current price is lower than he previous trade (downtick).
