Hello Tim, it looks like we are having an issue with some of our 148 servers. what you will want to do is log completely out of IQ and then re-log in.

Thanks.

Hi Curtis,
On some of my volume charts there is a string like this -------- . What does that indicate? My volume charts are 117649 and unless there are large blocks going through am I missing any ticks? Thank you.

Best regards,

Tim

tim,

Can you provide some more details such as what product you are using as well as what symbols you are seeing this on? A screenshot would definately help if you can post one. Are you looking at a constant volume chart, or just the bar chart of volume on a particular chart?

Hello Tim, depending on what type of Volume chart you are looking at yes it will do this. what happens is if a really large trade goes through that is higher than what you are looking at then the chart will basically flat line at the same price until it finishes that trade. so if you are looking at a 50 volume chart and a 1000 volume comes through at a price of 3.50 it will stay at 3.50 until it has plotted all of that trade, another way to look at it is every 50 points of volume it will create a bar then it will make a new bar for the same data for 50 points and so on and so on until that 1000 volume has been plotted. This will also happen on range charts as well if you look at them.

Thanks.

Hello Jay,
I am using Amibroker and Ensign Constant Volume charts. It is on SYMBOL C.TCK.B and I have noticed it on other charts as well at different times since I started using DTN. I don't know how to post a chart but if you have an e-mail address I can send it to you.

Hi Curtis,
It's possible there are some large transactions going through on C.TCK.B because the volume is quite heavy for it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't losing data which would make my CV charts useless. Thank you Curtis.

Hi Curtis,
Does DTN offer the CDN market broken down into sectors, industries etc? I know you can get that kind of data for the U.S. markets but wasn't sure about the CDN markets. It would be nice to have such data so you could scan for the strongest stocks in the strongest sectors..etc. Thank you as always for your help.

Kindest regards,

Tim

We do not carry the sector's and Industries specific symbols. I can put it on our list of requests.

Hello,
That would be great. Thank you. May I also request that DTN, when a chart is opened, fill in the historical data without having to force a backfill. It is a pain having to manually refresh the data so we get all the historical data for our charts every time we open them. I should mention that I use Constant Volume charts. This would be a wonderful feature and cut down on your clients workload. Thank you.
