Recently, I am getting error to login at the first attempt, but subsequent attempt will succeed. Do you know what could cause this error? I haven't seen this before. Also, is there a way to kill iqconnect process and restart it again if the call back routine timed out in curtain time?

Not sure what would cause this error other than simply being unable to establish a socket connection to the servers (firewall or some other network problem).
The only way to kill IQConnect would be by finding the process and killing it manually (there isn't anything in the IQFeed API to do this for you).
