Hi, Here are some questions concerning news stories: - On receiving news stories (XML "news_stories"), is there any way to find out to what news/story id the story belongs to ? According the docs news stories only have "is_link" and "story_text" XML elements, but no "id" or so. Am I missing something ? - What's the meaning of "is_link" ? To what item is the news story linked to ? Regards Dierk Droth www.trademagic.net TradeMagic - Trading at its best

To receive the full story text, you would have had to made a request for it by storyid. Thus, you should already know the id. If you are asking how to know what the storyID is for a headline (so you can pull the full story), that is in the response message. Take a look at the "News Headlines by TCP/IP" in the documentation for details.
The is_link function isn't currently implemented but is there so we can provide links to external stories should we decide to.

Jay, Sorry for not being clear enough on that issue. 1) I have a set of news story ids by retrieving the news headlines (no problem there). 2) I now would like to retrieve the news stories for all of these ids by issueing a bunch of "NN" commands. 3) I will get back a set of XML documents. Here is my question: Which XML document belongs to which news story id ? According the docs, there is no way to map the XML document back to the originating news id. Am I missing something ? The news retreival is a serial method. Thus, it isn't meant to pull batch stories. If you want a story, you will need to request the story, wait for it to come back (very fast), then move on to another.
