APIer -Interested User- Posts: 13 Joined: Feb 1, 2007	Posted: Jul 11, 2007 10:12 AM Msg. 1 of 4 Hello. I downloaded 360 symbols, intraday tick data for 2 days last night. I started at 9:53 PM, and it didn't finish until 11:47 PM. Nothing was wrong w/my internet connection; it was fast. Any idea why downloading historical data is so slow?

I need some more information before being able to look into this further.... Do you run this same batch of processing every night? Was last night the first night you saw this happen? How long does it normally take you to retrieve this data? Do you know which server farm you were connected to?

It is always pretty slow, however last night was the slowest I've ever seen it. In the past (on 05/03/07), 1 day has taken from 8:34 to 9:15 PM just as an example. I do not run the same batch every night, I pull up a list of stocks based on criteria & run it when I have time that day (always after 7PM): 7/10/2007 9:47:33 PM S,SERVER CONNECTED 7/10/2007 9:47:33 PM S,CUST,real_time,66.112.156.227 7/10/2007 9:47:33 PM S,KEYOK 7/10/2007 10:11:17 PM Invalid symbol. 7/10/2007 10:11:48 PM download failed for BRCDD 7/10/2007 10:22:40 PM Unable to connect to tick history socket 7/10/2007 10:22:50 PM download failed for CRUS 7/10/2007 10:23:11 PM Unable to connect to tick history socket 7/10/2007 10:23:21 PM download failed for CSCO 7/10/2007 10:43:53 PM 7/10/2007 10:44:24 PM download failed for IDCC
