"Boy, probably spent a thousand hours trying to get ******* API to work right. And now two hours to have something running with IQFeed. Hmmm, guess I was pretty stupid to fight rather than switch all this time. And have gotten more customer service from you guys already than total from them… in five years." - Comment from Jim

IQFeed Developer Support » Too many simultaneous history requests Dec 22, 2020 09:09 AM (Total replies: 13)

Wouldn't it be appropriate to restore the old policy at least for a week or so (or until after the holidays?), so that we aren't forced to immediately address this just-announced, new iQFeed policy? We have other demands on our time this week -- it seems unnecessary to force us to prioritize changing our code immediately. Thanks.

Same issue for me. Long time user, also using v6.1.0.20.

IQFeed Developer Support » iQFeed 5.0 result format Jan 29, 2014 08:50 AM (Total replies: 3)

Thanks, that seems to have fixed the problem for HTT requests, but when I perform a watch to get update messages for a particular symbol, I seem to get Update messages that look like the following:

"Q,NFLX,404.3800,150,09:34:57.893,11,282942,404.3700,200,404.6900,500,403.1200,404.9900,402.0500,406.7700,C,3D,"

I assume I'm supposed to be getting an 85-field update message as described at http://www.iqfeed.net/dev/api/docs/Level1UpdateSummaryMessage.cfm. (And I believe I am setting the protocol on the current connection, with a C# statement like "bool protocolSet = SendRequest("S,SET PROTOCOL,5.1\r\n");")

Thanks again.
Mark

IQFeed Developer Support » iQFeed 5.0 result format Jan 26, 2014 06:20 PM (Total replies: 3)

I modified one of my applications to use the new iQFeed 5.0 result format for HTT requests, so that I get the additional data fields ("Trade Market Center" and "Trade Conditions") described in the new result format specification at
http://www.iqfeed.net/dev/api/docs/HistoricalviaTCPIP.cfm

When I make an HTT request, however, I seem to still get the old iQFeed 4.9 format, and I don't seem to get any data for the new data fields. (I'm using the 5.1 client.)

For example, when I send a request like "HTT,CMG,20140124 00000100,20140124 235900,,,,,CMG,\r\n", I get results like the following:

CMG,2014-01-24 16:00:11,492.4800,232,893228,492.4100,492.6100,2023016,0,0,E,
CMG,2014-01-24 16:00:11,492.4800,16943,892988,492.4100,492.6100,2023014,0,0,C,
CMG,2014-01-24 15:59:59,492.9000,198,875966,492.4500,492.9000,2021502,0,0,C,
CMG,2014-01-24 15:59:58,492.9000,100,875641,492.4500,492.9000,2020900,0,0,C,
CMG,2014-01-24 15:59:57,492.9000,100,875505,492.4500,492.9200,2020281,0,0,C,
.
.
.
.

These results seem to match the iQFeed 4.9 format shown in the specification rather than the iQFeed 5.0 format (note the second-last and third-last fields always seem to be "0"). I assume there's something else I should be doing to request the 5.0 format, but don't know what. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Data and Content Support » Symbol Changes Feb 22, 2013 02:10 PM (Total replies: 5)

Thanks for the prompt reply. Do you have any suggestions as to how I can determine when a symbol changes, as in the RIMM/BBRY situation?

Thanks again.
Mark

Data and Content Support » Symbol Changes Feb 22, 2013 11:16 AM (Total replies: 5)

I think i’m interested in the same thing that the original poster was inquiring about, and assuming the feed still does not provide symbol change information, I’m not sure how the symbol file would help as is suggested above.

For example, when Research in Motion recently changed its symbol from RIMM to BBRY, what information in the symbol file would tell me that the RIMM symbol changed to BBRY? On February 5, 2013 (the day after the symbol change apparently occurred), both of those symbols still showed up in that day’s symbol file as equities trading on the NGSM exchange.

Data and Content Support » Tickers in Symbol List Jan 16, 2012 10:48 AM (Total replies: 1)

I can retrieve data for ticker HHH (an ETF that trades on Nyse/Arca), but I don't see the ticker 'HHH' anywhere in iQFeed's comprehensive symbol list (posted daily at http://www.dtniq.com/product/mktsymbols_v2.zip ). Sorry if I'm missing something, but shouldn't the HHH ticker be listed somwhere in the comprehensive symbol list?

Thanks.
