"I "bracket trade" all major news releases and I have not found one lag or glitch with DTN.IQ feed. I am very comfortable with their feed under all typical news conditions (Fed releases, employment numbers, etc)." - Comment from Public Forum

"Thanks for the great product and support. During this week of high volume trading, my QuoteTracker + IQ Feed setup never missed a beat. Also, thanks for your swiftness in responding to data issues. I was on ******* for a few years before I made the switch over early this year, and wish I had done it a long time ago." - Comment from Ken
"If you are serious about your trading I would not rely on IB data for serious daytrading. Took me a while to justify the cost of IQ Feed and in the end, it's just a 2 point stop on ES. Better safe than sorry" - Comment from Public Forum

I'm looking to colocate my trading platform, which uses IQFeed.

Assuming IQ doesn't offer colocation services, where (City, State) are the IQ servers? I'm in Los Angeles, and I've spoken with local colo's, but they concur I need to get my platform closer to the data feed source to improve upon what I already get at home.

Anyone out there already doing this? Any comments (good or bad) on colo providers?

Lastly, any recommendations on remote control software? The product I've been testing (from Funk software) appears to be unhappy with either the IQ data feed, or Interactive Brokers feed, and disconnects me periodically.

TIA

IQ's primary servers are in Omaha, NE. Our failover servers are located in Bellevue, NE.

I can't speak to the colo issue - being in development, I couldn't tell you if we're doing anything remotely similar to that or not. I'm sure somebody else can answer this issue for you.

I'm not sure what you're looking for in remote control software, but I like and use VNC (Google "VNC" to get all the variants) to admin my own and clients' servers, both across the room and across the country. It's not fast enough for serious remote application use, but sufficient for maintenance.

I found the problem some time ago. Turned out to be buggy firmware for my linksys firewall router (BEFSX41 model I think). There is an "unofficial" firmware release available on the net which solved my (and many other peoples) problems with the router doing sontaneous reboots.

Symantec PCAnywhere - It works well. Cost, I think around $250.
GoToMyPC - Have not tried. Has good reviews. Cost?
LogMeIn - I use the free version. I like it. It's free and easy so give it a try. (LogMeIn.com)
